Today, JF Daber mainly offers high level pernambuco wood bows. Following the Pernambuco CITES classification we decided to limitate the use of pernambuco wood to the making of high end bows.
For each and every customer, would they be Great Amateur or Professional, we select the variety of pernambuco wood that best meet their requirements.
Pernambuco wood for high level bows
Nowadays, Pernambuco remains the only known natural material showing the required acoustic and mechanic characteristics to make modern bows. We exclusively use pernambuco to make sensitive bows that offer artists both the mechanic and acoustic properties they need.
- Collaborator Bows. These bows are versatile, sensitive and will enable musicians a first approach of tone adjustment as regard to modulation, colour and power
- Master Bows. These bows show strong personality and high sensitivity. They are aimed at artists who want to build the sound they imagine.
A long tradition in making pernambuco bows
In the past, our workshop has also made and offered different lines of bows stamped:
- Claude Le Griffon à Lyon
- Franck Vincent à Lyon
- Nicolas Delaune à Lyon
- Jean-François Daber à Lyon
These lines that were aimed at students are step by step replaced by our Hybrid Bows lines. Hybrid Bows not only offer both comfort and sound, they also mean more value for money and contribute to protect natural resources. (lien vers page archets hybrides)
